Implementing the Science Practices in K-8 Science

with Rebecca Lowenhaupt, Benjamin R. Lowell, & Kevin Cherbow

Authors of the book: The Instructional Leader’s Guide to Implementing K–8 Science Practices (ASCD, 2021)

Program Review: As districts around NYS adopt a new science curricula aligned with the Framework for K-12 Science Education, we will focus on the 8 science practices that are a key dimension of Framework-aligned science standards. These practices include investigating practices; sensemaking practices; and critiquing practices.

Program Description: This online webinar will engage practitioners in learning about implementing these practices in K-8 schools. Drawing on the book, The Instructional Leaders’ Guide to Implementing K-8 Science Practices, three authors of the book will engage in a hands-on, interactive webinar about the K-8 Science Practices.
